Heritage Team

Marty Lagina: Marty is a founder of Heritage and its Chief Executive Officer. He has a BSME from Michigan Technological University and a Juris Doctor from the University of Michigan.   With over 30 years experience in the energy business, he was a founding partner in the creation of Terra Energy in 1984 which was a pioneer in the exploration and development of the Antrim shale natural gas resources of Michigan.  Terra successfully developed over $3 billion of oil and natural gas resources.  As majority owner, Marty oversees all fundamental aspects of Heritage’s wind energy business.

Craig Tester: Craig is also a founder of Heritage, and is the Vice-President/Manager of Rock Management Group. His involvement with Heritage is largely focused on analyzing and establishing longer-term business strategies and relationships.  He has a BSME from Michigan Technological University.  As a founding partner of Terra Energy with Marty, Craig has a wealth of technical knowledge in the development and operation of energy resources.  He is responsible for oversight of Heritage in relation to technical engineering aspects of wind farm development projects.

Rick Wilson: Rick is Heritage’s Project Manager.  He has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from Denison University and a Masters in Landscape Architecture and Regional Planning from North Carolina State University.  Rick has over 20 years experience in project management and land use planning.  Prior to working with Heritage, Rick was integrally involved in the farmland and natural area conservation efforts of Michigan.  From 1993 to 2004 he worked with the Little Traverse, Leelanau and Grand Traverse Regional Land Conservancies in addition to the Michigan Farm Bureau.  He facilitates and implements all aspects and phases of Heritage’s business.

Alan Kostrzewa and Thad Shumway:  Each have over twenty-five years experience as a Landman in connection with the oil and gas industry and, more recently, the wind energy business. They have extensive experience negotiating, acquiring and structuring leases and they maintain extensive long-term relationships with utilities, regulators, attorneys, and business partners in the energy industry in the State of Michigan.  Alan and Thad manage and coordinate Heritage’s land lease acquisitions and fee purchases. Among other things, they coordinate and oversee the broker and leasing agent activity, negotiate lease terms with individual landowners, secure surface use agreements and rights-of-way from private landowners and public agencies, and obtain required permits and other regulatory approvals.

Pam Miller:  Pam is the Accounts Manager for Heritage. She is responsible for the financial accounting and business management aspects of the business.  She has a BSBA from Ohio State University and has over 15 years of experience in accounting.
